What Does a US FDA Agent Do?

FDA guidance states that foreign facilities must designate a U.S. agent who lives or maintains a place of business in the United States, and is physically present there, for communication between the facility and FDA.

Two regulatory requirements sit behind the fee.

21 CFR 1.232 requires a foreign facility's registration to include the name, full address, phone number and email address of its U.S. agent.
21 CFR 1.231 requires the designated agent to confirm they agreed to serve before FDA confirms the registration. A name on a form is not enough.

Why US Agent Quotes Vary So Widely
